More About This Course

Technology is an integral part of the lives of nearly all children and young adults. Whether it's a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, desktop computer or games console, children and young adults are spending more time than ever before on the Internet on a daily basis - including whilst they are at school.

As technology progresses, school age children will be spend even more time online. The necessity for them to be protected whilst online, in school and at home, will grow alongside this. The current technological climate means online safety is something that all educators have to be experts in.

Staying ahead of trends and equipping themselves with internet safety knowledge means educators can work alongside parents and carers to create a secure online environment for their learners.

The online world exposes children to danger in many forms. From cyberbullying to stalking, to digital identity and credit card theft, to grooming and sexual assault. These threats and dangers are exacerbated by new and emerging technology, especially for the most vulnerable students. This training course touches on the most common forms of online risk and abuse, and provides strategies to prevent and resolve these risks.

You will also gain insight into how to effectively teach children and young people the importance of staying safe online. Embedding online safety education from the early years has a significant preventative impact, helping to reduce long-term risks of online harm. By learning best practices and self-protection strategies early, children and young people are better equipped to navigate digital spaces safely and make informed choices as they grow.
