This course gives education staff the knowledge and confidence to safely administer and manage medication in schools, colleges, and other learning environments. Learners will explore common medicines, routes of administration, legal responsibilities, medicines management procedures and the Six Rights of Medication Administration.


The course also examines how to support children and young people with medication needs, including self-administration and emergencies. It covers consent, record-keeping, infection prevention, effective communication, and responding appropriately to medication concerns or errors, helping ensure the safety and wellbeing of every learner.
